Hypnotherapy guides you into a natural, relaxed and deeply focused state allowing you to become more aware of inner resources, skills and strengths. Then to develop strategies to put those resources to use so that you can make the changes to yourself and your lifestyle that you would like to make.

Yes hypnotherapy is a completely safe and natural way of using your own inner resources to make beneficial changes. The only side effect is to feel extremely relaxed after a session. There are times when you may be more aware of certain emotions following a session but we will always work to ensure that you feel that you have the inner resources and support networks so that you can cope with these feelings.

If you are able to follow instructions and are of normal or higher intelligence then you can be hypnotised. The more motivated you are the more successful you will be at making the changes that you desire.

No hypnosis is a 100% consent state and although you may feel like staying in hypnosis for longer because it feels so good you will not get stuck.

Yes you will always be aware of what’s happening and what’s being said by the hypnotherapist and yourself.

Your conscious mind may wander and it can feel like a dream state when you emerge but you can always remember what has been said if you want to.

No, you never lose control when in hypnosis, you are always aware of what is happening and will only accept suggestions which are acceptable to your beliefs and morals. You might not even realize that you have entered a different state.

Hypnosis is the natural trance state and being open to positive suggestions. This trance state is a very natural state which occurs frequently during our normal days e.g. when totally engrossed in a film or a book, or when driving to our destination and not remembering how we got there.
Hypnotherapy is the use of therapeutic techniques during that trance state to guide you to make positive changes that you would like to see in yourself and in your life. Some common examples of these changes are to overcome a fear of flying or the dentist, or to increase self-confidence at work or at home.

Yes everything is kept in the strictest confidence. I don’t share with anyone who my clients are. I follow the ethical codes of the National Guild of Hypnotists and the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

The first appointment is for two hours and following appointments are for one hour. Ninety minute sessions can also be booked.

Please click here for my full list of fees and packages.

I offer different discounts on pre-paid packages of 5 or 10 sessions and also when more than one person in the same family see me for sessions.

I also offer discounts to NHS workers.

Please contact me directly if you would like to discuss your ability to pay.

Appointments are initially scheduled one week apart; however this can vary depending on the changes you would like to make and your availability. We can arrange following appointments at the end of your first session.

This will vary from person to person as everyone is seen as an individual with therapy tailor made specifically for you. On average clients are seen for 4-6 appointments. However there are certain times when clients are routinely seen for fewer appointments e.g. to stop smoking or for more e.g. depression and some forms of anxiety.

I see clients all around the world in different time zones so my office hours are very flexible and I like to work with you to find a regular time that is convenient to us both. Please email me to discuss my availability.

With the right guidance there is little that hypnotherapy cannot help with as the mind is one of the most powerful tools known to man. However it is not possible to give a guarantee as success depends on your motivation and how you respond to hypnotherapy.

For hypnotherapy to work you only need to be able to hear my voice and I need to be able to see you to see how you’re responding. So, hypnotherapy works perfectly online as long as we both have a good internet signal.

I will send you a Zoom link for each individual session. You can click onto the link and join the session even if you haven’t downloaded Zoom.

You need somewhere quiet to sit where you won’t be disturbed.

You need an armchair with a high back or a reclining chair, or sit on your bed with pillows for support – you need your head and your neck supported.

You also need somewhere to put your device (phone/tablet or laptop) so that it can stand without you holding it in a position where I can see you.

You need a good internet signal

I regularly see clients at Matlock Therapy Centre in Derbyshire, UK, I also occasionally see clients in therapy rooms in London and elsewhere in the world.

I can also arrange home visits if you are physically unable to travel – please contact me to discuss your needs.

For most of my clients English is their second language. Your English needs to be good enough for us to be able to communicate. When you are in hypnosis I speak more slowly and I repeat words and phrases which makes it easier to understand.

I’ve also found that because we are working with your subconscious mind you will discover that you know more of the vocabulary than you consciously know!

During your free consultation we will both be able to decide whether we understand each other enough to work together.
